This blog is a kind of new beginning for me. I’ve had a few places where I posted content on the net before, and they’ve all failed for various reasons. A quick list:
- a free web hosting account (failed because of prolonged periods of downtime of the server)
- a blog on blogspot.com (failed because I ceased to believe in what I was writing) (some advertiser already stole the URL)
- another blog on blogspot.com (failed because of lack of time and desire and questionable quality of content posted)
- a photo blog on blogspot.com (failed because of lack of time and fed-ups with the image upload approach of Google Blogger)
- an empty blog on blogspot.com (intended for poetry, but failed because of lack of skill and inspiration)
- a website (failed because doing it all from scratch is just too much PHP for me)
- an attempt to use a CMS (failed because Drupal is not for me, as I’m not trying to build a community)
I want to start from scratch as the New Year comes, so I’ll remove everything of the above except for exit.freehostia.com (I still want a place to experiment with PHP). This single blog will be my only presence on the web as of January the 1st. I commit to keep this one alive (and a public commitment is hard to break) I put my real name on this blog, as a first step towards responsibility. :P
Now I’m going to rm -rf what’s left…
